Kaatsbaan Lodge (also called Total
Tennis) Kaatsbaan Lodge (also called “Total Tennis”) is located in Saugerties, New York, 100 miles north of New York City and 40 miles south of Albany. We're just 3 miles from Exit 20 off the New York State Thruway. Stewart Airport to the south and Albany Airport 45 miles north of Kaatsbaan Lodge, services the area. Frequent bus service is available to the Town of Saugerties from all major cities. Amtrak stops in Rhinecliff, New York. Taxi service is available from the station to Kaatsbaan Lodge. Lunch: A full buffet lunch will be offered on Saturday and Sunday for $15.00 per person each day. Menu includes full salad bar, fresh fruit, hot and cold luncheon items including vegetarian. Beverages: coffee, tea and juices. Dessert included. THE COST FOR LUNCH HAS BEEN ADDED TO AND INCLUDED IN YOUR REGISTRATION FEE (HENCE, $665 INSTEAD OF $635 FOR EARLY BIRD). PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN YOU REGISTER IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE INCLUDED. There are also restaurants and convenience stores approx 5 mis away in the town of Saugerties, or you can bring your own food. Class Price: $715 including lunch ($685.00 without lunch) Early Bird Class Price: - $665 including lunch ($635.00 without lunch) if your registration deposit is received by March 25, 2009. Required Deposit: $210.00 Reviewers Fee: $135.00 including lunch ($105 without lunch); Early Bird $125.00 including lunch ($95 without lunch) Class Size: Please note that the class is limited to the first 35 students and 5 reviewing IET Master-Instructors who register. CE hours: Massage CE hours are available to students and reviewers who take this class. This class is approved for 16 NCBTMB CE contact hours.
Accommodations: If you wish to stay at the Lodge, we have set aside a few guest rooms at a rate of $100 per night plus tax, which includes a full breakfast. Call the Lodge directly if you are interested in a reservation (tell them you are attending the IET class with the Center of Being). Other local hotels are listed below. Note that some IET students have found that the Lodge, while most convenient, has been somewhat noisy. These students have preferred the Comfort Inn, which requires an approx 10 min drive. Comfort Inn Directions: From the South: Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 20. After paying the toll, make a left turn at the traffic light. Pass over the thruway, and immediately turn right on Route 32 North. After 1 1/2 miles, 32 North gradually begins to turn left. Watch for a yellow diamond traffic sign that has a right turn marker on it. Make the turn onto Old Kings Highway. Continue through a 4 way stop, pass the Katsbaan Golf Course on the right and Katsbaan church on the left. Immediately after the church, turn left at the Total Tennis/Katsbaan Lodge sign. Proceed to the parking area on the left. From the North: Take the NY State Thruway to Exit 20. After paying toll, turn right onto Rte 32 North, and then follow the instructions above (After 1 1/2 miles, etc) By Bus: Daily service to and from New York City port authority and other locations in Rockland, Westchester, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. Call Adirondack Trailways at 800-858-8555 to confirm location and schedules. You should then take a taxi to the Lodge, or ask the Lodge for pick up alternatives when you call to book a reservation. One local taxi service can be reached at (845) 247-4444. By Air: Stewart Airport is about 45 miles to the south and Albany Airport is about 45 miles north of Kaatsbaan Lodge. By Train: Amtrak stops in Rhinecliff, New York (about 15 miles from Kaatsbaan Lodge). Taxi service is available from the station to Kaatsbaan Lodge. Chariot Taxi (845-876-3000) runs out of the Rhinecliff Amtrak train station. Taxi Service: three local services can be reached at (845) 247-4444 or (845) 679-7766 or (845) 876-3000: Chariot Taxi. Chariot Taxi runs out of the Rhinecliff Amtrak train station (as well as airports and bus stations).
