CE's - Massage (NCBTMB)

Note that the terminology has recently changed from CEU's to either Continuing Education Hours or CE Hours.  NCBTMB is the The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, and operates in the U.S.

The Center of Being has been approved by the NCBTMB to award CE Hours.  For the past several years, Colleen and Jim Helbert, IET Master-Instructors and owners of HeartLink Natural Healing Services in Georgia, have been providing this service to Masters who want to offer CE hours to their students and have done a wonderful job.  They are now passing the baton to The Center of Being, Inc who will use the same forms and process set up by Jim and Colleen, whereby you too can offer your students National Massage Board CE hours for the IET Classes that you teach! Advertising that National Massage Board CE hours are available for your classes may increase the number of students that attend your classes. Here are the number of CE hours that your students can receive after completing these classes (taken after 12/1/2008):

Basic - 8 hours

Intermediate - 8 hours

Advanced - 8 hours

Pets - 8 hours

(note: for classes taken before 12/1/2008, you will receive 7 CE hours)

Simple two-step process: If you wish to offer National Massage Board CE contact hours to your students, there is a simple two-step process for you to follow. First, you must complete a one-time teacher registration form and send it to The Center of Being. The Center will then submit your registration to the NCTMB. After you are registered, each time you want to obtain CE contact hours for one of your students, there is a one page student CE application form to fill out and send us. The Center of Being will send the final CE certificates to the students for the classes they have taken.

Step 1 - Master-Instructor Registration Process:
If you wish to qualify for receiving Massage CE contact hours for your IET classes through The Center of Being, the NCTMB requires specific information. The registration is simple. It includes sending the following biography form to “CE Registration, C/O The Center of Being, Inc.; PO Box 883; Woodstock, NY  12498"  Note the address change (it previously went to HeartLink Natural Healing Services).  Or, feel free to email it to DebbieHaubrich@LearnIET.com

1.      Fill out the attached biography form. Please make sure you fill it out completely. If you have questions, contact Debbie Haubrich (845-657-7220 or DebbieHaubrich@learniet.com.  Note: it is a Word file. If you are not able to open a Word file, you can use this pdf version as a template (print and fill out).
2.       A check for a one time registration fee of $50 made payable to The Center of Being, Inc.  Paying by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) is fine too (just give us a call).

Step 2 - Student CE Contact Hours Application Process:
After your student completes one or more of your classes, you can submit a CE application (click here for pdf version) for your student. You must submit one application for each student who wishes to receive National Massage Board CE contact hours. In the application you will simply provide:
1.      The student’s name, mailing address, classes taken, and dates of classes.
2.      The student’s name as they wish it to appear on their CE certificate.
3.      A check for $15 made payable to The Center of Being, Inc. for each application (it is best to submit one application after the student has taken several classes since the $15 fee will cover the CE contact hours for one class or several classes taken from the same instructor).  Paying by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) is fine too (just give us a call).

As an alternative, you can have your students fill out the form and send it to us directly themselves.  We use the same form as a student application form (in pdf format) to make it easy.  Please print it out and mail it in to The Center of Being, Inc. - one form for each student you wish to give CE's.

Notes:

1. The MI has to register with The Center of Being, and we have to send their paperwork to the NCTMB (the MI can't do it themselves).
2. You can only give CE contact hours from the time you register with The Center.
3. You can not backdate CE's (offer them for classes you taught before you register).
4. People can take a refresher class and are eligible to receive CE's for those classes. (this is an alternative to backdating that you can suggest to students)

CEU's - Social Work

(3/2002)  Barbara Stone has gotten approval from the Massachusetts's Social Work Board to be able to give continuing educational units (CEU's) to Social Work professionals for the Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels of IET.  If you wish to get more information on how she did this, or would like a copy of her application, please contact her at contact@souldetective.net.

CEU's - College

Due to administrative issues, the option of obtaining CEU’s from Felician College has been discontinued. We want to thank Maggie Liebmann for her time and energy in initially setting up the system.
