Betty deMaye-Caruth, PhD., RN, CHTP, RM/T, IET/MI
Betty was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and lived in Queens until she located to PA in 1991. She has been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and holds a Masters Degree in Education and Doctorate in Holistic Health. Her interest in holistic medicine has led her to become certified in Healing Touch and a Master Instructor in Integrated Energy Therapy. She also incorporates Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, Aromatherapy and Flower Essences in her private practice in Honesdale. As an educator, Betty teaches and coordinates seminars on various holistic topics including Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, Healing Angels and Integrated Energy Therapy for people and for pets.
In 1994, Betty and her husband, Larry Caruth, DMD, co-founded Minerva Educational Center to promote public awareness of holistic healthcare options through workshops, meetings and publications.
Betty is active in several community organizations including Past President of the Rotary Club in Honesdale, PA, an active member of Business and Professional Women and is a Major in the United States Army Reserves.
Betty is owner of the Minerva Educational Center in Honesdale, PA. They offer classes to anyone who is interested in learning alternative and complementary methods of healing, looking for a change in their life, career or physical and/or emotional wellness. This includes, but is not limited to, classes on Reiki, Hypnosis, Herbs, Aromatherapy, Healing Touch, Integrated Energy Therapy and Reflexology. Over the past 9 years we have trained practitioners in these therapies and many have opened their own healing centers or gone into private practice, others have found a new skill that they use with themselves, family and friends.
Minerva Educational Center is beautifully situated on 17 acres in the Pocono Mountains, bordered by the protected Scenic and Recreational Upper Delaware River. With interstate access nearby, workshop participants enjoy the easy 2.5 hour drive from New York City.
Dr. Betty has an office and sees clients for treatments in many of the therapies that are taught here. It has been an honor for Dr. Betty to help people deal with the transitions that occur in this life. Some are dealing with cancer, chemotherapy, radiation, depression, the onset of a sudden illness, divorce or death of a loved one.
